Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark is situated in Ningde City, northeastern Fujian Province. It primarily comprises Taimushan, Baishuiyang, Yuanyangxi, Baiyunshan, Jiulongji, Liyuxi, and Huotong Ancient Town, covering a total area of 2,829.82 square kilometers. The Geopark is distinguished by its Mesozoic miarolite and volcanic rock landforms. Baishuiyang boasts a world-rare flat bedrock riverbed spanning 80,000 square meters. Baiyunshan is densely populated with an intricately formed river valley pothole group. Taimushan presents spectacular peak cluster and stone egg landscapes. Jiulongji features an impressive cascade of nine-tier waterfalls, while Yushan Island displays the marine erosion marvel of Tianhu Island, surrounded by shimmering blue waters. The Geopark is regarded as a natural museum of geological evolution along the southeast coast. This location not only provides a comprehensive record of 150 million years of plate subduction and magmatic activity, creating a nationally leading ecosystem, but also encompasses four elements of intangible cultural heritage of humanity, including the traditional practices for building Chinese wooden arch bridges, as well as distinctive cultural relics like the profound She ethnic culture.
