Baiyunshan is situated at the center of the Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark, 30 kilometers from downtown Fu’an. It encompasses core attractions such as Jiulongdong Shelter, Baiyun Peak, Longtingxi Ravine, Huanglanxi Ravine, and Jinzhong Mountain. It is a National Scenic Area, a National AAAA-level Tourist Attraction and a National Geopark, and is renowned as the “Pothole Museum”.
This area features Mesozoic volcanic rocks and miarolite landforms, as well as deep meandering ravines. It is home to extensive groups of river valley potholes in a variety of forms, serving as a natural textbook for micro-landforms shaped by water erosion. Baiyunshan is renowned for its spectacular natural phenomena, including seas of clouds, sunrises, and Buddha’s light, with an outstanding ecological environment.
Strolling through the mountains, you can witness the marvels of hundreds of millions of years of geological evolution, admire secluded ravines, pools and cascading waterfalls, immerse yourself in the unique She culture at Xita Grape Creek, and experience the harmonious blend of natural wonders and cultural heritage. Baiyunshan serves as both a major gateway for exploring the geological evolution of the southeast coast and a premier tourist destination that combines scientific research, sightseeing and leisure, and cultural experiences.
