Yuanyangxi is located in the northwest section of the Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark, 29 kilometers from Pingnan County. It is recognized as a National Scenic Area, a National AAAAA-level Tourist Attraction, a National Geopark and a Provincial Nature Reserve. It is also the only nature reserve in China dedicated primarily to the protection of mandarin ducks and rhesus monkeys, earning it the title “Hometown of Mandarin Ducks”.

This area features a variety of landscapes, including volcanic rock landforms, deep ravines, tiered waterfalls, emerald ponds and clear streams, and is home to iconic sites such as Biyi Peak, Baizhangji Waterfall, and the Wavy Cliff of Immortal Banquet Ravine. The ravine is deep and dramatic, with towering and steep cliffs. The stream is crystal clear, flows year-round, and supports an exceptional ecological environment. In autumn and winter, flocks of mandarin ducks pair off and frolic in the water, while wild rhesus monkeys roam the forest, bringing vitality and liveliness to the serene landscape.

Strolling along the ravine trail, you can fully immerse yourself in the wild beauty of lush mountains, cascading waterfalls, and flowing springs. You can enjoy the harmonious coexistence of rare flora and fauna with pristine landscapes. Yuanyangxi is an ideal destination for ecological tourism, science popularization, leisure and wellness, as well as wildlife observation.
