From October 27th to 29th, 2024, Longyan UGGp successfully hosted a Sustainable Development Salon in Liancheng County. Ningde UGGp, also a Global Geopark in Fujian Province, actively participated in the event, engaging in discussions with Longyan UGGp and numerous experts and scholars on the path to sustainable development for geoparks.

The theme of this salon was “Collaborating on Strategies for Sustainable Development”. Managers from Longyan UGGp provided detailed introductions to the construction and management of the park since its designation as a Global Geopark on March 27th, 2024, sharing experiences in geological heritage protection, tourism innovation, scientific research, and science popularization. Experts and scholars from institutions such as the China Academy of Geological Sciences and the Fujian Geological Survey Research Institute conducted in-depth exchanges on topics including geological heritage protection, efficient management, and tourism innovation in geoparks.

The atmosphere of the salon was lively, with participants expressing that through this exchange, they not only gained a deeper understanding of Longyan UGGp but also obtained many valuable experiences and insights. The successful hosting of this salon not only injected new vitality into the development of Longyan UGGp but also provided valuable lessons and references for geoparks. Ningde UGGp will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with other geoparks, jointly promoting the sustainable development of geoparks and making greater contributions to the protection and inheritance of Earth's natural heritage.
