From June 14th to 17th, 2024, the Changbaishan Global Geopark & Biosphere Reserve Sustainable Development Conference was successfully held in Chibei District of the Changbaishan Conservation and Development Zone in Jilin Province. Representatives from Ningde UGGp attended this prestigious event.

This conference was jointly hosted by the Management Committee of Changbaishan Conservation and Development Zone in Jilin Province, along with the International Union of Animal Science, the China National Committee for Man and Biosphere Reserve, the National Geopark Network Center of the China Academy of Geological Sciences, and other organizations. It aimed to conduct in-depth discussions on areas such as ecotourism, ecological products, and species conservation, jointly promoting the green and sustainable development of Global Geoparks and Biosphere Reserves.

During the conference, representatives from Ningde UGGp not only participated in in-depth dialogues on the scientific management and international cooperation of geological heritage but also engaged in face-to-face experience exchanges with representatives from other geoparks. In particular, they had heated discussions on how to leverage the natural advantages of geoparks to promote local economic development while maintaining ecological balance. Ningde UGGp, with its unique natural scenery, solid conservation efforts, and innovative science popularization education model, won widespread praise from the participants. Additionally, the field visits organized during the conference provided Ningde representatives with the opportunity to closely study the successful experiences of Changbaishan Global Geopark in ecological protection and tourism development, offering valuable insights for the future development planning of Ningde Global Geopark.

Ningde UGGp will take this seminar as a new starting point to deepen its cooperation with the Global Geoparks Network, continuously strengthen the protection of geological heritage and ecological restoration efforts, while actively exploring new models of science popularization education and green tourism. It aims to contribute "Ningde Wisdom" to the sustainable development of global geoparks.
