On October 21st, a total of 97 students from four majors — Oil Painting, Lacquer Painting, Mixed Media Painting, and Sculpture — of the 2023 undergraduate class at the School of Fine Arts, Fujian Normal University, ventured into the Yuanyangxi scenic area under the guidance of their teachers to carry out a themed sketching activity.

Autumn is an ideal season for art students to engage in outdoor sketching. The mountains and forests are filled with the magnificent scenery of red leaves covering the entire hillsides and layers of trees dyed in vibrant hues, allowing them to freely capture the intense color clashes with their paintbrushes. They will use various painting forms such as oil painting, watercolor, and sketching to preserve the unique beauty of autumn they see on paper.

The breathtaking waterfall scenery of Yuanyangxi not only nurtures the students' bodies and minds but also provides them with abundant creative materials and sources of inspiration. The students expressed their vibrant youth through pigments and painted beautiful landscapes with their brushes, engaging in a colorful sketching activity at Yuanyangxi. They also took group photos in front of the towering waterfall as a keepsake of the occasion.
