UNESCO Global Geopark Expert Assisted in the Realidation of Ningde UGGP - Baiyunshan

On August 22nd, Alireza Amrikazemi, a member of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Council, the head of Iran's National Geopark Network, and the scientific coordinator of the UNESCO Kish Island Global Geopark, visited Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark - Baiyunshan to guide the revalidation. Chen Huarong, Deputy Mayor of the People's Government of Fu'an City, and Guo Bin, Deputy Director of the Fu'an Baiyunshan Management Committee, accompanied him during the inspection.
At the main museum of the Ningde UGGP, Alireza Amrikazemi carefully viewed the well-produced science exhibition boards and various geological exhibits. He frequently paused to converse with the interpreters, delving deeply into the long geological history of the Ningde UGGP. During the interactive session of science education, he actively participated, personally operated the interactive equipment, and experienced the joy brought by geological knowledge.
At the Fu'an Tanyang Gongfu Tea Museum, Alireza Amrikazem carefully examined over 500 collectibles and precious tea specimens, including tea-making tools, tea silver notes, and tea sets from the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty to modern times in Fu'an tea industry. He gained a deep understanding of profound tea culture history of Fu’an, as well as the planting environment and production techniques of Tanyang Gongfu tea.
At the Jiulongdong scenic area of Baiyunshan, Alireza Amrikazemi visited attractions such as Hulu Pond and Jiulong Cave. During his visit, he listened attentively to the detailed introductions of the geological relics and landscapes by the interpreter, carefully observed the structure and morphology of the potholes within the scenic area, and evaluated the geological protection measures implemented there. Additionally, he shared his unique insights on how to further enhance the scientific value and tourist attraction of the scenic area.
In Xita Village of Muyun Town, Alireza Amrikazemi delved deep into the village to personally experience the local customs and traditions. He carefully observed the village layout, architectural features, and its harmonious integration with the surrounding natural environment. During his visit, he also engaged in friendly conversations with local residents, inquiring about their production and living conditions, and even experienced the joy of picking thorny grapes.
During this research, Alireza Amrikazemi engaged in in-depth and comprehensive exchanges with the accompanying personnel. Leveraging his extensive professional knowledge and years of work experience, he conducted a thorough analysis of the current situation at Baiyunshan. He put forward highly constructive opinions on the ecological environment protection and scientific management of geological relics within the park, infusing new vitality and clear thinking into the reassessment work of Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark - Baiyunshan.
