In the afternoon of April 19th, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Global Geoparks Network, the "Sister Parks Exhibition and Interaction" event of the 55th World Earth Day and the launch ceremony of the 5th Asia-Pacific Geopark Week publicity activities, jointly initiated by 45 geoparks nationwide, were held at the Yifu Museum of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan).

Representatives from 12 geoparks, including Ningde, Dali Cangshan, Changbaishan, Taining, Shennongjia, Huanggang Dabie Mountain, Wugong Mountain, Zhangjiajie, Enshi Grand Canyon-Tenglong Cave, Jiuhua Mountain, Funiu Mountain, and Songshan, attended the event and released the "Wuhan Declaration of Chinese Geoparks".

The 45 geoparks participating in the exhibition and interaction span six major geographical regions including North China, Northeast China, Northwest China, East China, Central South China, and Southwest China, featuring a diverse range of geological and geomorphological landscapes such as Danxia, granite, glacier, karst, volcano, quartz sandstone peak forest, Yardang, and desert. They cover multiple geological eras, climatic zones, ecological habitats, and ethnic cultural systems. The landscapes of mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes, grasslands, and deserts, combined with the 5,000-year history of civilization, form a magnificent picture of the Earth. The interaction between humanity and nature vividly showcases the unique and diverse geological landscapes and geopark culture of China.

The "Sister Parks Exhibition and Interaction" event was jointly initiated by the Yandangshan Global Geopark and Danxiashan Global Geopark in 2020. Its purpose is to further promote friendly exchanges and cooperation among world geoparks, better convey the earth science value, aesthetic value, and cultural value of geoparks to the public through interactive methods, enhance the ability of geoparks to tell the story of the Earth and the story of protected areas in China, promote the brand awareness, reputation, and attractiveness of geoparks, and realize the branding, industrialization, and sustainable development of science popularization in geoparks.
