To facilitate the exchange of experiences and brand development among Global Geoparks, a delegation of six members from the World Geoparks Club (Hong Kong), led by Mr. Wu Kejian, the former Secretary for Education of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the President of the Network, and Mr. Zhang Jiacheng, the Chairman of the Council, visited the Ningde Global Geopark from May 14th to 16th. The purpose of this visit is to jointly explore, through on-site inspections and in-depth discussions, how to better utilize the brand of Global Geoparks and promote the coordinated development of geotourism and ecological conservation.

During the visit, members of the delegation personally visited the three core scenic areas of Ningde Global Geopark - Baiyun Mountain, Baishuiyang, and Taimushan, conducting comprehensive and detailed on-site inspections to gain a deep understanding of the specific practices and achievements of Ningde Global Geopark in geological heritage protection, ecotourism development, and popular science education promotion. In addition to the on-site inspections, the delegation also held in-depth exchanges and discussions with the management team and relevant departments of Ningde Global Geopark on how to better utilize the brand of Global Geoparks. Both sides engaged in heated discussions on topics such as the sustainable development of geoparks, brand building and market promotion, popular science education, and community participation, jointly exploring new paths that combine geotourism with ecological protection.
