In response to the campaign of "Bringing Sports Events into Scenic Areas, Blocks, and Business Districts" launched by the General Administration of Sport, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, with the aim of expanding domestic demand and actively fostering new consumption growth points such as cultural tourism, sports events, and trendy domestic products, the 2024 Fujian Taimushan Tunnel Crossing Challenge Race was held in Taimushan on May 26th.

At 8:30 in the morning, with the sound of the starting gun, nearly 600 contestants set off from the Taimushan parking lot, officially kicking off the 2024 Fujian Taimushan Tunnel Crossing Challenge Race. Contestants from all over the country indulged in the beauty of the mountains and the sea amidst the lush green mountains and clear waters, while appreciating the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Since its inception in 2022, the Fujian Taimushan Tunnel Crossing Challenge Race has attracted the attention and active participation of numerous runners with its unique combination of sports, culture, and tourism. Today, this event has grown into a new brand IP for the integration of culture, sports, and tourism in Ningde and even Fujian Province. This year marks the third edition of the Fujian Taimushan Tunnel Crossing Challenge Race, which combines the breathtaking scenery, landscape legends, and historical culture of Taimushan with traditional Chinese elements to create a unique cultural atmosphere for the country's first "tunnel crossing" race through the "sports + tourism + culture" approach. The racecourse, designed according to the unique landscape and cultural features of Taimushan, offers stunning views of "dangerous peaks, peculiar rocks, secluded caves, and misty illusions" throughout the journey. Additionally, the event promotes traditional Chinese aesthetics, with some participants dressing in ancient costumes to experience a "thousand-year journey" through sports and culture.
