Experts from UNESCO Global Geoparks Paid an Investigation Tour To Baiyunshan Scenic Area and Highly Praised It.

From February 9 to 10, Nicholas Zouros, chairman of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network and curator of the Lesbos Natural History Museum in Greece and Prof. Axinasius Khoza from University of the Aegean, Greece paid an investigation tour to Baiyunshan Scenic Area, Tanyang Tea Garden Base and other scenic areas. Zhang Jianping, professor from China University of Geosciences and a member of the Global Geoparks Network Executive Board, Lin Yueling, deputy mayor of Ningde, Zhong Minglong, director of Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark Management Committee and director of Ningde Tourism Development and Reform Commission, Chen Caiming, executive deputy director of Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark Management Committee and deputy director of Ningde Tourism Development and Reform Commission, Huang Guoyi, associate investigator of Ningde Land and Resources Bureau Huang Guoyi and deputy director of Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark Management Committee, Lin Hai, deputy mayor of Fu'an city, Chen Zhiqiang, deputy director and other leaders of Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark Management Committee accopanied this delegation in their invesitgation.

They visited Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark Museum, Baiyunshan Jiulong Cave Scenic Area and Tanyang Village in succession.

Their visit to Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark mainly aimed to further intensify cooperation and exchange with sister park. Therefore, after the investigation, they carried out a symposium with the relevant leaders of Ningde, shared the construction experience of Global Geopark and signed an agreement on study of association between geologic structure and crop and tourism development of UNESCO Global Geoparks. As sister parks, Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark and Greek Lesbos UNESCO Global Geopark strengthened their exchange, cooperation and mutual progress through this cooperation agreement.
