Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark is located in Ningde City in the northeast of Fujian Province, China. It is currently the only global geopark with both mountains and seas in China, consisting of major scenic areas of Pingnan Baishuiyang, Fuding Taimushan, Fu'an Baiyunshan and Zhouning Jiulongji. In order to promote the science popularization education about the park and the students' knowledge about this park, the "First Youth Pottery Craft Competition" is rolled out by the Management Committee of Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark and Fu'an No.3 Middle School. The activity plan is hereby noticed as below:

I. Activity theme

Themed "Peculiar Landscapes -- Pottery Exploration", to describe the folk customs and geomorphological landscapes of the Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark, show the love for a green homeland and the expectation for happy lives, and express people's positive and determined spirituality, noble ideals and elegant aesthetics. Hand-make potteries related to the scenic spots, folk customs, and rare animals and plants in the Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark.

April 10 - May 15, 2018

III. Participants expected

Students from Fu'an No. 3 Middle School and pottery enthusiasts in Fu'an.

IV. Activity Requirements

1. Make pottery works based on the materials supplied or individual knowledge about the park;

2. All works should be original, attached with a label card (indicating the work name, school, name, age and contact number) and sent to Fu'an No.3 Middle School by May 8. (Address: 45 Dongxu Street, Muyang Town, Fu'an, Fujian, contact person: Cai Tingping, contact number: 15506930703)

3. Each participant is limited to submit 2 works.

V. Evaluation

1. The works should be original and close to the event theme.

2. The works require a complete composition, a lively modelling, rich content, imagination, vividness and fun, harmonious colors, healthy content, positive attitude and infectivity.

3. The various forms of works based on pottery include plane paintings and three-dimensional shapes. The maximum size is 50CM*50CM.

The organizer has the copyright and the right to use of the entries, which will be stored in the Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark and displayed occasionally.
