On February 7, the delegation of Nicholas Zouros, chairman of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network and curator of the Lesbos Natural History Museum in Greece, and Prof. Axinasius Khoza from University of the Aegean, Greece came to invesitgate Taimushan Scenic Area. Zhang Jianping, professor from China University of Geosciences and a member of the Global Geoparks Network Executive Board, Zhong Minglong, director of Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark Management Committee and director of Ningde Tourism Development and Reform Commission, Chen Caiming, executive deputy director of Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark Management Committee and deputy director of Ningde Tourism Development and Reform Commission, Huang Guoyi, associate investigator of Ningde Land and Resources Bureau Huang Guoyi and deputy director of Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark Management Committee, relevant leaders of Taimushan Management Committee and the scenic area, accopanied this delegation in their invesitgation.

The first stop: Taimushan Tourism Distribution Center

Sited in Yangli Village, Taimushan Town, and next to Taimushan Station of Wenzhou-Fuzhou railway and Taimushan Town traffic hub of Shenyang-Haikou expressway, Taimushan Tourism Distribution Center was built as per the standards for the first-class tourism distribution center and national 5A scenic area tourist center. It is a supporting base for tourism comprehensive sevices integrating the functions of distributing, parking, sightseeing, shopping and catering. On September 8, 2017, it was formally put into service.

The investigation group firstly came to Taimushan Tourism Distribution Center and conducted investigations of the Geopark Museum under construction, ticket hall, and business street. They learned in detail the situations about infrastructures within the distribution center, environment improvement and institution management, etc. Nicholas gave advice on the construction content and English signboards for the construction of the geopark museum. 

The second stop: Green Snow Bud White Tea Plantation

Located at Fangjiashan Village, Taimushan Town, Taimushan Green Snow Bud Plantation is the core area of the Green Snow Bud organic tea base, which covers an area of 1,500mu, surrounded by rich tourism resources, and only 1.5km awary from the main Taimushan Scenic area. Relying on the national 5A scenic area Taimushan and the program of poverty relief through tourism developed by Fangjiashan She Nationality, it has evolved into a modern sightseeing tea park integrating the functions of "eating, accommodating, playing, touring, entertaining and shopping".

The investigation group tasted Fuding white tea at Green Snow Bud plantation and distinguished at site the differences between the three grades of Fuding white tea: silver tip pekoe, white peony and shoumei. They also visited the white tea base. 

The third stop: Taimushan Scenic Area

Taimushan Mountain Peak Scenic Area possesses a touring area of 24.6 km². There are precipitous mountains and hills, towering fantastic rock peaks, deep grottos, and curled cloud and mist. Correspondingly, it is famous far and wide for the four wonders of "steep mountain, rare peak, secluded cave and illusory mist", and is reputed as "Celestial City in the Sea". In the mountain, there are 360 sites of rocks which are all in different postures; more-than one hundred grottos at the foot of peak constitute a landscape of granite grottos which rarely exist in the world's other famous mountains and are really fantastic. Standing on the summit of the peak and overlooking the East China Sea, one can have a panoramic view of a grand "Spectacle of Mountains and Sea" picture, in which there are numerous islands scattered around, bays of exquisite sceneries, countless sailboats and boundless green waves.

The investigation group walked along the wooden trestle, passed Baolong Lake and Heart of Taimu, ascended Yingxiantai and arrived at Guoran Mingshan. They enjoyed the scenery of Tianzhufeng -- "A Pillar in the South"; standing on the Dapanshi, one was presented in front all Taimu peaks; the touring of the Sea-view Trestle presented all "spectacles of mountains and sea". They also went through the General Grotto, and had a little taste of Taimu's quiet grotto.

During this trip, the delegation led by Nicholas carefully checked the explanation boards along the road and gave advice for improvement. Certainly, he was intoxicated often by the sceneries of Taimushan and praised for several times, "It's very nice!" He also said that next time he would experience the narrowest grotto of Taimushan -- Yixiantian (Thin Strip of Sky). 

In the morning of February 8, the investigation group arrived at the No.1 Poverty Relief Village of China -- Chixi Village for investigation; following, they still went to Pingnan Yuanyang Stream Scenic Area, Fu'an Baiyunshan Scenic Area and Tanyang Village for investigation.
