September 19, 2017 marked the opening of The 5th Asia-Pacific Global Geopark Conference held in Zhijin County, Guizhou Province themed at "UNESCO Global Geopark Prompting Sustainable Development of Local Economy". The delegation headed by Zhong Minglong, director of Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark Management Committee, 6 in total, attended this conference.

This 5-day conference fell into 5 keynote speeches and 6 special speeches to study and exchange opinions on construction of global geopark in strengthening sustainable development of local social economy, public education through scientific knowledge propagation, facilitating construction of candidate global geoparks and intensifying regional cooperation to further UNESCO global geopark development in Asian-Pacific region and also on other subjects.
