Last night, Zhouning locals' WeChat Moments were flooded by this message! The "Chinese Carp Brook" Cup 2016MTI (Miss Tourism International) & Night of Champions for "Jiulongji" in Fujian (China) Division of Miss Tourism International (live broadcast by Ningde TV Station) was held in the beautiful mountain city - Zhouning. 

1. Competitors' catwalks

Dressing in active wear, swimwear and evening dresses, competitors performed in three catwalks to show their youthfulness, vitality and elegance to audiences. "Enjoy the youth with more fashionable appearance", they were shining and sparkling at that moment, full of colors and fantasy.

2. Talent show

A quite innovative talent show was set in this final. Competitors who entered the final arrived at Zhouning on October 15, and respectively visited the mountainous as well as mist-shrouded Chenqiao and experienced Lidun Tourist Culture Festival, who also visited and made pilgrimages to the Chinese wonder - Carp Brook as well as the No. 1 waterfall in the East China - Jiulongji. They recorded their feelings and experiences of Zhouning scenic spots, then made compositions independently according to relevant information, integrating Zhouning's scenery of mountains & rivers, cultural customs and especially the famous scenic spots into their talents - this was an innovation in China Division out of the entire MTI.

Competitors were divided into three groups to perform the Ultimate Beauty Gathers in Zhouning via recitation, the Extraordinarily Beautiful Carp Brook via sign dance, and the Majestic Jiulongji via instrumental music performance.

3. Performance of the Carp Funeral Oration

In the competition, the performance of Carp Funeral Oration was also presented on T stage, totally retaining its primitive nature regardless of a history of 800 years. Accompanied by Master Zheng Xiaolu's cadenced recitation, the elders living nearby the Carp Brook age after age presented on the stage. They dressed in clothes reminiscent of the Republic of China and revivified the Carp Funeral Oration which had been passed down by Puyuan villagers for over 800 years, showing audiences with the legendary tales between human and carps passed by Carp Brook locals from generation to generation about "care and protect carps".

4. Guest performance

More than a competition for competitors to manifest their youthfulness and talents, the "Night of Champions for Jiulongji" was also a splendid gala evening; the host also planned and prepared many wonderful programs to let audiences enjoy a visual feast.

5. Award ceremony

This was a feast of beauty and also a competition of beauty. In the final, individual prizes and the top 8 competitors were selected in Fujian Division. Li Xiang the 19-year-old girl from the Northeast China won the champion, followed by Zhou Danqin the 24-year-old girl from Zhouning and Lu Yuhan the 16-year-old girl from Quanzhou successively. They will represent Fujian Division to participate in the Final of China Division to be held in Beijing in November.

Zhouning is well endowed with tourism resources: it has the national Level 4A tourist attraction "Carp Brook · Jiulongji", the national Level 3A tourist attraction "Chenqiao", the peculiar "Bat Cave", Dishuiyan as "No. 1 landscape of Bamin", "Qinshan Lake" as the No. 1 alpine lake in the East China and other scenic areas, plus local special geographical location and historical transition, thus forming a variety of distinctive regional cultures, such as the Carp Protection Culture advocating "harmony between man and nature", Corridor Bridge Culture listed in the directory of intangible cultural heritages, belief in Lingong the patron saint worshipped by folks in the eastern Fujian, farming folkways and the profound Red Culture. Zhouning deserves a title of "green land of treasures" integrating the nature and humanity, acting as a tourism resort with great development potentials via combinations of the ecological summer resort, leisure & amusement, recuperation and holiday resort.  

In recent years, Zhouning County Committee of the Communist Party of China and County Government have spent great efforts in creating universal tourism brands such as "Ecological recuperation" and "All-season suitability for tourism". The "Chinese Carp Brook" Cup · 2016MTI (Miss Tourism International) & Night of Champions for "Jiulongji" in Fujian (China) Division of Miss Tourism International themed by "More Fashion · Joyful Youthfulness" was ceremoniously held in our county. Taking this opportunity, we can definitely set up a bridge connecting Zhouning tourist culture and the global tourist culture, and popularize Zhouning's beautiful landscape, unique local conditions and customs as well as rich folk cultures in the world, thus to promote the creation of Zhouning's tourism image and establish its tourism brand culture. All the competitors will become emissaries delivering Zhouning's culture, acting as new images to represent and propagate Zhouning's tourism as well as reveal Zhouning's charm, and making Zhouning a global tourist destination with more cultural, era and international characters.
