September 24, 2016 Baishuiyang - Yuanyang Stream

Over the past fleeting decade, Baishuiyang experienced numerous changes. Ten years ago, Wu Yi, the former vice premier of the State Council, inspected the construction of Baishuiyang Scenic Area in Pingnan, Ningde. 

Known as "mystery of the universe and wonder of the world", Baishuiyang has been awarded as a national Geopark as early as August 2005. 

During the inspection, Wu looked over the major attractions and the construction of supporting infrastructure in the area with great interest and expressed high appreciation of the peculiar natural landscape in Baishuiyang. As she said, Fujian is rich in tourism resources and it is necessary to develop the tourism industry further based on this advantage. She hoped that the local government would prepare better plans, reinforce environmental protection, speed up the construction of road traffic and other infrastructure, continuously improve service level and make Baishuiyang sightseeing more charming.

Wu took up the pen with delight to write an inscription for Baishuiyang: "Peculiar Landscape".

Wu Yi Takes a Photo with Everyone

Ten years later, Baishuiyang has made herself outstanding as a Global Geopark, a national 5A Scenic Spot, one of the top 10 tourist brands in Fujian, a national green tourism demonstration base, and one of the CCTV "Perfect Holiday -- Top 10 Tourist Routes in China".
