On February 10, the exchange meeting between China Ningde UNESCO Global Geoparks and Greek Lesbos UNESCO Global Geoparks was hosted in Fuding. Nicholas Zouros, chairman of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network and curator of the Lesbos Natural History Museum in Greece, Prof. Axinasius Khoza from University of the Aegean, Greece, Zhang Jianping, professor from China University of Geosciences and a member of the Global Geoparks Network Executive Board, Zhong Minglong, director of Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark Management Committee and director of Ningde Tourism Development and Reform Commission, Chen Caiming, executive deputy director of Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark Management Committee and deputy director of Ningde Tourism Development and Reform Commission, Huang Guoyi, associate investigator of Ningde Land and Resources Bureau, Liao Tiansheng, director of Taimushan Management Committee, and other relevant leaders of Baiyunshan Scenic Area, Baishuiyang Scenic Area, Zhouning Jiulongji National Park of China attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Zhong Minglong, director of Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark Management Committee and director of Ningde Tourism Development and Reform Commission.

At the meeting, Nicholas Zouros, chairman of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network and curator of the Lesbos Natural History Museum in Greece shared the management methods and experience of Greek Lesbos UNESCO Global Geopark with all attendees. Prof. Axinasius Khoza from University of the Aegean, Greece communicated the development experience of rural tourism with all attendees. Nicholas also proposed suggestions for correct use of relevant signs in Global Geopark. Afterwards, Zhang Jianping, professor from China University of Geosciences and a member of the Global Geoparks Network Executive Board offered instructions for the relevant work of the Global Geopark.

At the meeting, Prof. Zhang Jianping stated that the current management and development of Global Geopark is confronted with many challenges and also raised to improve the make breakthroughs in the management system and development thought, correctly understand the concept and requirements of Global Geopark, cultivate high-level talents and intensify efforts in protection of geological relics.

At the end of the meeting, attendees made interactive discussion over the relevant issues of Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark and shared and exchanged experience.
