The China Mountain Tourism Association is created innovatively as a comprehensive tourism organization based on the principles of voluntary participation, fairness, integrity and win-win, with various mountain tourism areas being the principal part, and under the cooperation with the mountain tourism industry and the academic circle of tourism. In line with the ideas of "platform co-building, brand co-creating and value sharing", this association is dedicated to manifesting the histories and cultures of mountains, advancing the protection of resources and environment, and deepening scientific research and communication. It also targets at strengthening management interaction, product innovation and marketing coordination to effectively promote the inclusive development and sustainable development of China's mountain tourism. The association includes 23 famous mountain scenic areas in 10 provinces as its first batch of members, such as Mount Emei, Huangshan Mountain, Leshan Giant Budda, Longhu Mountain, Mount Lu, Mount Putuo, Mount Qingcheng, Mount Qingyuan, Sanqing Mountain, Taimushan, Taining, Mount Tai, Mount Wudang, Mount Wuyi, Fragrant Hill, Yandangshan. Its plan to expand the member scale in 2016 allowed it to get linked with 50-60 famous mountain scenic areas in over 20 provinces by relying on the "four vertical and four horizontal" network of China's high-speed railway.
