The appearance allows it to be integrated well into the surrounding ancient buildings, becoming a tree-embraced view in the col beside the Tingtao Bridge. According to the relevant responsible person in the Municipal Tourism Administration, there are 92 tourist toilets completed in Ningde by the end of November, with another 7 to be finished by the middle of this month.

Tourist toilet is a key standard to measure the tourism infrastructure and service level since it matters the basic physiological needs and interests of people. As required by the provincial "Three-year Action Plan of Tourist Toilet Construction Management", Ningde shall build and improve 99 tourist toilets, involving 1,267 toilet seats in a total construction area of 6,542m², in the tourists gathering places of scenic areas and rural tourist spots. Among the number, 83 are newly-built and 16 are expanded.

As for the construction of tourist toilets, the Ningde Tourism Administration requires the relevant departments of villages, towns and scenic areas should prepare reasonable planning and design, allowing the environmental-friendly and practical toilets to reflect the local culture connotation and local features. The bamboo-themed tourist toilet in Fengdu Town, Gutian County, makes itself an example for its appearance and practicability; The public toilet in the "Shuiyunguju" Scenic Area in Gui Village, Jiudu Town, Jiaocheng, makes rockery as the wall and natural dripping as the inside view, integrating well with the Huotongxi across a path.

By the end of November, the city has completed a total of 92 toilets, 78 newly-built and 14 rebuilt. There are 7 toilets still under construction. The relevant responsible person in Tourism Administration said that the city would finish the construction of 99 toilets by the middle of December. And the completed ones will be inspected on strict standards through the combination of overall check by the County Tourism Administration and selective check by the Municipal Tourism Administration, aiming to achieve the goal of "abundant, clean, odorless, practical, free, and effectively managed".

It is also learnt that Ningde will plan and roll out policy and financial support documents to boost the tourist toilet construction, prepare reward and punishment mechanism, assist the tourist toilet construction and explore new methods such as business-support-toilet and business-manage-toilet and long-term effective cleaning and maintenance mechanism to strengthen the management and maintenance of tourist toilets. In view of the scattered scenic spots in large areas of Ningde, the Municipal Tourism Administration will, in the next stage of tourist toilet construction, reinforce instructions on the tourist toilets within rural tourist spots and scenic areas to ensure the sufficiency and practicality for tourists. As planned, there will be 60 toilets newly-built and 30 rebuilt in Ningde in 2016; 57 newly-built and 27 rebuilt in 2017, sufficient to meet the demand.
