As reported by the Housing and Urban-rural Development of Fujian, the directory of the first batch of Fujian provincial traditional villages was published recently, on which 339 villages province-wide were listed. Wherein, 70 villages citywide were listed.

As required by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Ministry of Culture, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and the Ministry of Finance on the formulation of directories of traditional villages on four levels (national, provincial, municipal and county-level), to effectively protect excellent vernacular architectures and traditional dwellings in Fujian and to promote the heritage as well as continuance of traditional villages' history & culture, the identification of the first batch of provincial traditional villages submitted was organized and carried out by the Housing and Urban-rural Development of Fujian, Fujian Provincial Department of Culture, and Fujian Provincial Department of Finance.

Pursuant to the Review & Identification Measures for Fujian Provincial Traditional Villages, and after the thorough investigations, declarations in various regions, expert review and publicity, 339 villages (e.g. Jiangdou Village, Xincuo Town, Fuqing City, Fuzhou) were finally determined to be listed in the directory of the first batch of provincial traditional villages. In December 2014, the Review & Identification Measures for Fujian Provincial Traditional Villages were released in Fujian. Pursuant to Measures, the traditional village review & identification indexes consist of three parts: the evaluation index system of village's traditional historical architectures and characteristic architectures (130-point), the evaluation index system of village's site selection and layout (100-point), and the evaluation index system of intangible cultural heritages borne by the village (100-point), totaling in 330 points. A village identified as a provincial traditional village generally earns quantitative evaluation points of over 250 points.

Gutian County: Taoxi Village in Chengdong Sub-District; Zouyang Village in Dajia Town; Zhongcun Village in Daqiao Town; Fengting Village in Huangtian Town; Fengzhu Village in Panyang Town; Ruiyan Village in Daqiao Town; Qianyang Village in Zhuoyang Township; Ruishang Village in Pinghu Town;
