Tourists enjoyed a safe and orderly trip in hot atmosphere in the Baiyunshan Scenic Area during this national day holiday thanks to the prior attention of the Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Municipal Government, the support of relevant departments at all levels and the joint efforts of the tourism industry throughout the city. This holiday was special for "five measures and four features":

Five measures:

Firstly, sufficient preparations and meticulous deployment. Since the middle of September, the Management Committee has adopted the practice of "village interview, advance plan, detailed program and determined priority" to ensure the right personnel in proper position with clear duties.

Secondly, improved service and reinforced coordination. The staff was required to arrive in advance, pay attention to manners and provide warm and considerate services. There were many good personalities and good deeds witnessed during the holiday. On October 5, Huang Changguang, the driver of a sightseeing bus, returned the left wallet with more than RMB 10,000 in cash to its owner.

Thirdly, extended publicity and preferential policies. Popularity of the scenic area was effectively enhanced through the advertising in the first half year, the participations in "Refreshing Fujian" promotions in the Yangtze River Delta and the southwest China, the "September 8" Travel Fair and publicities in Mount Wuyi and Baishuiyang. In addition to the promotional activities, holiday and festival discounts were also offered. For example, at the juncture of the National Day Holiday and the Double Ninth Holiday, tourists above 60 years old could have a free visit and numerous tourists nearby were attracted.

Fourthly, brand establishment and image improvement. The brand image has been further improved after establishing the 4A scenic area and passing the middle assessment for a Global Geopark.

Fifthly, comprehensive and thoughtful facilities. During the holiday, the continuously improved tourist toilets, shopping malls, parking lots, tourist centers, barrier-free elevator and other facilities met the basic demands of tourists; guide cards were set at all stops showing the information about sightseeing buses between the south and north service areas to help tourists catch the bus to the right direction; direction posts and route suggestions were also set up at all intersections to ensure the right bus and route of tourists, saving time and efforts for them. 

Four features:

1. Increased tourists. According to statistics, during the National Day Holiday, the tourists in Baiyunshan Scenic Area totaled 33,000, therein 16,000 in Jiulong Cave, indicating year-on-year growths of 44.74% and 11.94% respectively.

2. More nonlocal tourists. It is learnt that tourists from other cities and provinces took about 60% of the total number; nonlocal tourists mainly came from Zhejiang, Nanjing, Nanchang and Fuzhou, Quanzhou and Ningde and other counties and cities.

3. Realization of the integration of "safety, order, quality and benefit" to achieve "steady safety, right order, considerate service and peaceful happiness", and the nonoccurrence of accident, dispute and complaint.

4. Greater tourist satisfaction. The satisfaction survey conducted during the holiday, as a support to the Fujian Huatong Company entrusted by the Provincial Tourism Administration, showed favorable results.
