To advance the construction of a culturally strong county and revitalize the vitality of ancestral hall culture, the on-site exchange meeting for the pilot initiative of the Ancient Ancestral Hall, New Cultural Vibrancy Civil Ritual Hall program was held on November 20 at the Zheng Clan Ancestral Hall in Puyuan Town, Liyuxi, Zhouning County.

Participants conducted an on-site visit to the Zheng Clan Ancestral Hall, experiencing firsthand the exquisite craftsmanship of traditional architecture and the profound depth of cultural heritage. They gained direct insight into innovative practices integrating modern civil elements into the ancestral hall, including its role in supporting community cultural life and expanding public service functions.

During the subsequent symposium, representatives from Puyuan Town shared practical experiences and notable outcomes in the protection and inheritance of ancestral hall culture, as well as in expanding and enriching the functions of the Civil Ritual Hall—providing replicable models for other townships.

“Moving forward, we will consistently organize activities such as fish-protection martial arts transmission, classical poetry exchanges, handcrafting pottery, and diverse promotional events,” said Tang Zaiqun, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the Puyuan Town Party Committee. “Through active participation, the public will come to understand their local history and carry forward traditional culture. The ancestral hall will no longer be a ‘static relic,’ but a ‘dynamic cultural space’—truly becoming an indispensable ‘cultural hub at the doorstep.’”
