On September 30, the “Zhouning’s Flower-Moon Night: A Thousand Carp Share the Full Moon” Mid-Autumn and National Day Carnival officially launched at Liyuxi, blending light art, traditional culture, and immersive experiences to ignite festive joy while revitalizing the 800-year-old carp culture heritage for a new era.

Liyuxi was transformed into a dreamlike “Moonlit Secret Garden” through curated installations: on the extended platform of Youth Square, a giant glowing carp air sculpture  As the Carp Meets the Moon  radiated symbols of reunion and harmony; above the stream, a constellation of lanterns titled A Thousand Carps Racing swayed gently, their light filtering through gauze to create a poetic scene of fish dancing amid moon reflections, turning water into a river of luminescence; along the ancient Ban Yue Bridge, Carp Leaping Over the Dragon Gate lanterns lined both sides, their reflections mirroring the structure in the water  a prime photo spot where visitors eagerly captured the moment, laughter echoing through the night.

Liyuxi has long embodied the unique Harmony Between Humans and Carp culture—a model of human-nature coexistence. This year’s “Flower-Moon Night” event deepened this ethos by intertwining the Mid-Autumn theme of “Flowers in Full Bloom, the Moon at Its Fullness” with diverse interactive experiences.

Amid the historic courtyard complexes, performers in Hanfu and She ethnic costumes presented thematic dances that wove carp legends and Mid-Autumn sentiment into graceful movements, transporting audiences into ancient folklore with every turn and gesture, drawing enthusiastic applause. Along the banks, interactive booths drew crowds: children sat patiently as artists painted vivid fish-scale patterns on their faces, echoing the living carp below; others collected cultural stamps at cultural creativity stations, turning memory into keepsakes.
