Located on the east hill of Baiyunshan, Ningde UNESCO Global Geopark, Tanyang Village (Shekou Town, Fu'an) accomodates 2100 villagers out of 523 households (of which 120 are of She ethnic group) at present, known as the birthplace of the prestigous "Tanyang Kungfu" black tea at home and abroad. It covers an area of 6.75 km², of which tea gardens occupy 4000mu and forests occupy 4154mu (achieving a forest coverage of 74.5%). Its annual yield of tea reaches over 300t, with 35 tea processing factories (family workshops) and 18 tea stores (tea houses) established. Tea planting & processing industry is the major income source for villagers. Tanyang Village cherishes the long-standing "Tanyang Kungfu" tea culture and profound background of folk culture. In 1915, "Tanyang Kungfu" won a golden medal in the Panama Pacific International Exposition. Architectures with the style of Qing Dynasty are still preserved in Tanyang, such as ancient dwellinigs, ancient tea houses, defensive towers, corridor bridges, Tianhou Temple, Shi Ancestral Temple, Hu Ancestral Temple, etc.
